Getting started

  1. Prepare your Mac

    Install Xcode and sign in to your Apple account in Xcode → Settings → Apple Accounts. ipa-hub reuses the signing certificate already on your Mac.

  2. Pair your device

    Open Device Hub (installed with Xcode), choose File → Pair Nearby Device... from the macOS menu bar, and follow the pairing prompts.

  3. Start the server

    Run this on your Mac's Terminal and choose your paired iPhone or iPad when prompted:

    npm i -g ipa-hub && ipa-hub service install --setup-manager

    Requires Node.js 24+ or Bun 1.4.2+

  4. Add App Manager to your Home Screen

    On your paired iPhone or iPad, open the setup page in Safari. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen, then Add.

FAQ

Does ipa-hub need my Apple password?

No. Sign in through Xcode. ipa-hub uses the signing certificate and compatible provisioning profile already on your Mac.

Can I install without a cable?

Yes. Open Device Hub (installed with Xcode) and choose File → Pair Nearby Device... to pair wirelessly. Your Mac must stay awake and be able to reach the device. It also works over Tailscale.

Can my app update itself?

Apps can read the update URL ipa-hub adds during signing, check for a new release, and update themselves after user confirmation. See the Swift integration guide

Is it free?

Yes. ipa-hub is open source with an MIT license. It runs on your Mac and uses your existing signing setup.
